A.R.E. Retail Design Collective to feature more than 35 showrooms, educational presentations and a retail windows walking tour
Hollywood, Fla. (September 18, 2014)—The Association for Retail Environments (A.R.E.) is getting ready for the Retail Design Collective to take place Dec. 3-5, 2014 in New York City, with headquarters at the Metropolitan Pavilion. The three-day event takes place during the height of the holiday season and focuses on retail design and decor, featuring more than 35 showroom displays and three educational presentations.
New in 2014 is a free WindowsWear Fashion Window Walking Tour on Dec. 4 to the first 50 registrants as well as a collaborative installation at the Metropolitan Pavilion that will showcase products from participating showrooms. The Retail Design Collective coincides with the 18th Edition of the PAVE Gala, a popular fundraising and awards party on Dec. 3 that benefits students pursuing careers in the retail design and visual merchandising industries.
The show’s new headquarters at the Metropolitan Pavilion will feature a concentration of pop-up showrooms and sponsor areas and will house the daily presentations. Its location in the heart of Chelsea is within walking distance to several other participating permanent showrooms and popular New York City retail. The show is designed so attendees can enjoy the entire New York City holiday vibe in just three days away from the office while gathering inspiration to springboard into 2015.
Presentations at the 2014 Retail Design Collective take place each morning of the show with Wednesday and Thursday presentations including continental breakfast and Friday’s including a full, sit-down networking breakfast. Topics include:
- “The British Invasion—Retail Perspectives From the Other Side of the Pond,” a look into the unique design perspective in the United Kingdom.
- “Trendy Talk,” a panel featuring industry design powerhouses with commentary on this year’s most prominent retail environment trends.
- “Window Display Trends From Around the World”
“The creativity that goes into our feature showrooms and storefronts at A.R.E.’s Retail Design Collective is truly amazing,” said Todd Dittman, A.R.E.’s executive director. “Our members are incredibly talented, and the Collective gives us the chance to showcase them to the world during everyone’s favorite time to visit New York.”
A.R.E’s Retail Design Collective has been described as an inspiration for store designers and visual merchandisers from small boutiques to large international retailers. It’s an exciting way to end the year for the retail industry and gather ideas for the new year ahead. The event has its roots as the “NADI (National Association of Display Industries) Show” going back to the 1970s. It has evolved through the years into the A.R.E. Retail Design Collective, but has always been held in New York City with a focus on retail design and showcasing the newest, most innovative products and concepts.
A.R.E. invites those who are looking for inspiration and ideas to take their business to the next level, all while enjoying the thrills of New York City. Discounts are available to attendees on hotels and the WindowsWear walking tours while supplies last.
