Seven aisles of shelving fell like dominoes at a Party City store in South Florida recently, resulting in three minor injuries. According to an installer, the supporting wall securing the gondolas failed.
The problem could have been a result of overloading the shelving. But since most merchandise in a party store consists of paper goods, that seems unlikely. To avoid such accidents, project teams need to verify that they perform all of the industry-standard practices to ensure customer safety.
