Unilever is serving up a treat for the eyes and palate with the opening of MAGNUM New York. The “dipping bar” makes its debut in SoHo with a popup featuring customizable ice cream in a curated setting. Decor and furnishings include a collection of bejeweled, bespoke MAGNUM bars. There’s also art installations, such as a New York City skyline made of wooden ice cream bar sticks.
The interactive experience allows customers to create MAGNUM bars of vanilla bean or rich chocolate ice cream that are hand-dipped in a choice of dark, milk, or white Belgium chocolate. Shoppers can then pick three toppings from a rotating menu of 20 ingredients including rose petals, goji berries, espresso sugar, and sweet coconut flakes.
The popup marks the first MAGNUM dipping bar in the U.S. and is open through mid-August. In addition to New York, 25 popups are expected to be launched around the world in places like Paris, Lisbon, Shanghai, Istanbul, and Jakarta.
