As online retailers—including subscription box services like Birchbox, JustFab, and Fabletics—open brick-and-mortar stores, can newly launched The Aftermarket be a peek into what’s next? The Aftermarket, at Find Subscription Boxes, touts itself as an online site featuring subscription-box items that had been purchased by customers, fans, and companies.
“Subscription-box companies work hard to curate items their subscribers want and use, but sometimes one of those products might be a miss,” says Carlos Underwood, co-founder of Find Subscription Boxes. “With The Aftermarket, subscription box customers can sell those items in an online marketplace dedicated to subscription boxes.”
Products available on The Aftermarket are featured in a variety of product categories including jewelry, beauty, collectibles, fashion, and books. Sellers have access to a store management dashboard that allows them to set up their “store” and start selling in a matter of minutes. Other features include order management, store support, and reporting tools. Sellers pay an 8% commission when one of their products sells. Members can connect with other fans, share photos, post unboxing videos, and write their own blog.
Is it only a matter of time before subscription-box services, and enterprising fans, trade clicks for bricks?
