As the trade association focused on enhancing retail environments and experiences, Shop! is committed to providing relevant career-enhancing professional development programs that directly address the needs of our industry. To that end, Shop! is introducing a new web-based Continuing Education program.
Each course is carefully crafted by certified instructors to help participants develop the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their professional goals, improve the performance of their organizations, and provide leadership and service to the industry.
The first course on Sustainability is now open and accepting registration at shopassociation.org/continuing-education/.
The Sustainability eLearning course explores the state of green building in retail by identifying the trends, influencers, and characteristics of the process. It provides insight into the benchmarks and life-cycle assessments. Course topics include:
- How a sustainability strategy affects each of the three areas of The Triple Bottom line.
- The state of green building in retail.
- How integrative design affects building green decisions.
- Characteristics of sustainable retail fixtures and construction materials.
- The green building rating systems.
- Options for benchmarking sustainability efforts.
Successful completion of the Sustainability course will provide current Shop! MaRC holders with one PDU in Build towards their tri-annual recertification. The Shop! MaRC Program is the industry’s only globally recognized credential that keeps retail individuals current on retail environments and experiences.
A second course on NeuroMarketing will be open for registration in September. Three additional courses will be added in 2018.
“We’re proud to launch a flexible online program that provides the added benefit of learning at a time and in a place that is convenient to the professional,” says Steve Weiss, CEO. “Providing practical instruction to our members and the industry at large is a top strategic goal at Shop!.”
