IDL Worldwide, a global expert in consumer experience design and production, has hired Christopher Massaro as a senior creative director overseeing the design work out of its new and growing Baltimore studio. Massaro, a thought-leading strategist in retail design who has spent more than 14 years building exceptional experiences for consumers, will guide creative strategy for the brand as IDL develops a foothold on the east coast.
Massaro partnered closely with IDL in his previous role as group creative director of global consumer experience for Baltimore-based sportswear industry giant Under Armour. In his new position at IDL, he will lead creative and experience design while building and supporting a portfolio of emerging brands. The design studio is expected to open in August.
“Chris is passionate about creating amazing experiences and bringing brands to life through richly layered storytelling,” says Alex Vera, executive creative director of IDL Worldwide. “His background supports our expanding partnership with world-class brands, and a Baltimore studio enables us to better serve customers in markets along the Eastern Seaboard.”
At Under Armour, Massaro most recently led the creative teams responsible for global consumer experience, including retail communication, concept shop design, and execution of strategic marketing initiatives.
“I look forward to IDL becoming a contributor to the Baltimore community and continuing to shape how retail brands deliver exceptional experiences everywhere they connect with consumers,” Massaro says.
