New concept merges bricks and clicks
Bricks and clicks need not be mutually exclusive. A new concept on the Las Vegas Strip shows that channels can be merged. At Vegas EXP, shoppers will be able to browse inventory, personalize merchandise, purchase it, and ship it via phone.
“It’s time we stop referencing retail as just a store. [Shoppers] crave interactive ways to be engaged, shopping on devices of their choosing from locations that are most appealing.”
“Vegas EXP combines technology and interactive digital media to create a truly interactive and highly personalized shopping experience,” says Jennifer Turner, president and CEO.
The 3,200-sq.-ft. space features 28 digital screens showcasing souvenir and convenience products. Shoppers can peruse inventory on the digital walls and via a mobile app. Some inventory will be customizable, and purchases can be made through Google Wallet, Apple Wallet, Amazon, and PayPal. Delivery services are available to local hotels along with home delivery options.
“It’s time we stop referencing retail as just a store,” Turner says. “No longer are patrons seeking a traditional brick and mortar experience. Instead, they crave interactive ways to be engaged, shopping on devices of their choosing from locations that are most appealing.”
