“The outcome is a studio that gives anyone a place they can just go and be,” says Jay Adam, design director at FITCH. “It is a gym for your mental well-being without the sweat.”
By creating a welcoming flow of energy that fosters community and empowerment, the environment embraces meditation in an innovative way. Guests are immediately put at ease.
Highlights include an acoustically controlled meditation room. Digital controls hidden inside the mediation platform allow guides to customize light, sound, and air settings. The results create a relaxing, immersive experience that enhances each guided class.
Natural materials and finishes lend authenticity too, such as the mosaic artwork made from reclaimed end grain cuts of white oak pieces sitting behind the reception desk. Shelves with undulating edged, clear sealed white oak also provide a natural connection.
Other features include a wood and metal community table that serves as a meeting place for guests and staff to converse and share. Glass writeable lockers add another expressive outlet and helps advertise the immediate results that mediation offers.
