The store’s transformation enhances customer service and reinvents the shopping experience without alienating the existing customer base. It communicates that the new, improved experience does not come at a higher price point.
Other design highlights include:
- Eliminating one aisle and replacing it with an open concept layout, where customers can freely circulate, browse and discover the entire space.
- Adding a natural flow to the selection process by organizing food categories in the order of how people would build a meal — from appetizers to desserts.
- Removing the counter and menu boards so that customers no longer have to wait in line.
Additionally, the scent of foods being cooked inside a full kitchen, in the store’s center, boosts appetites. Supplying items for customers to sample while browsing further amps up this sensory experience.
