Bay Cities won first place at AICC’s Package Design Competition in late September for its Transformers Display.
The AICC Independent Packaging Design Competition gives independent corrugators, sheet plants, folding cartons, and rigid box manufacturers from around the world a chance to showcase their most creative displays that have met and exceeded client expectations.
Bay Cities won in the category of Floor Displays: Product Merchandising, which was judged based on graphic design, print quality and complexity, easy of assembly, and meeting customer expectations, among many other qualifications.
The Transformers Display was printed on Bay Cities’ high-speed HP Scitex 15500 Corrugated Press, utilizing a variety of print modes.
The goal of this national campaign was to create a stunning Transformers display to dominate the toy aisle and sell Optimus Prime merchandise from a variety of suppliers across Walmart stores. Bay Cities had its team of skilled designers produce 1,500 train displays that made Transformers fans stop, stare, and ultimately purchase. The towering display brought Optimus Prime to Walmart stores in a way that generated sales exponentially.
