Design showcases brand’s carefully nurtured dream
Using such features as inviting entryways and eco-friendly elements, these surroundings combine the company’s cinematic heritage of founder Robert Redford with its resort and catalog/e-commerce origins. By showcasing an eclectic array of products highlighting artistry and craftsmanship in a curated, casual setting, the project eloquently defines the brand’s spirit and soul.

Weaving together an intimate, personal, and welcoming environment reflects Redford’s carefully nurtured dream, with its pledge of fostering creativity and independence. The entire scene engages visitors with a sense of discovery at every turn.
Complementing the unique spirit that the store represents, the entrance features copper-cast verdigris signage, copper-framed windows with rusted chicken wire, seeded glass, reclaimed timber doors, and hand-forged hardware. The storefront vitrine window, framed in hand-forged steel, displays vignettes of products with a seasonal or category focus.
The project is more curated than merchandised and presented with a high degree of casualness, intentionally creating a walk-in moment for the guest who feels they happened-upon the store. Soft and focused residential-like lighting gives a warm, intimate glow.
Features include whitewashed fixtures, vitrines, cases, and shadow boxes that promote meandering in a jewelry area illuminated by vintage light bulbs. Movie posters celebrating Redford’s career, along with handmade leather and iron benches and a woven wall covering, highlight the fitting room. Reclaimed and repurposed railroad spikes serve as hooks.
Other details throughout the store include an overscaled mirror made out of reclaimed ceiling tin. An oversized ottoman made from vintage rugs is complemented by underlit bronze LED lighted shelves.
At the cash wrap, a collection of photographs from the company’s archives features a Redford quote that outlines the philosophy and commitment of the Sundance experience.
Natural characteristics and finishes of materials throughout the space have been intentionally left as-is. A harmonious mixture of woods, patina copper, oiled metals, whitewash materials, and sea glass create a textural and diverse palette.
