Sleek kiosks are great fit for specialty stores
These sleek, portable, and interactive kiosks provide a space-friendly option for custom merchandise. Designed and built by Chandler Inc. for Hexa Recreation Products, the units debuted this fall at two specialty retailers: Ute Mountaineer in Aspen, Colo., and Midwest Mountaineering in Minneapolis.
Much more than click and ship, apparel samples contained within each unit to try on in-store add a strong tactile boost to the customer experience — making the entire process fun and engaging.
Twenty-four clear acrylic stacked tubes hold jacket samples — 12 men’s sizes and 12 women’s sizes — for customers to test zippers and fit. Actual swatches of colors and zippers can be viewed on a sample board, below the 42-in. touchscreen monitor. Orders are placed online at the kiosk and the custom jacket is sent to the person’s home.
The design includes a CPU system, glass mirrors, millwork, and locking cabinets on casters. The cord is ideally situated to run through the ceiling but can be designed or adjusted for the floor. The kiosks can also be set up for outdoor events.
