Members belonging to an ADA committee, formed by the Kiosk Industry Group Association, recently traveled to Washington, D.C. for an introductory meeting with the U.S. Access Board. Committee member Randy Amundson, technology manager at Frank Mayer and Associates, was among the attendees.
The U.S. Access Board is a federal agency responsible for writing ADA regulations. The Nov. 1 meeting, originally intended for 90 minutes, was extended to three hours and covered a myriad of topics. The session included giving the board an update on some of the latest access technology being used in the self-service space.
The committee intends to work with the U.S. Access Board on an ongoing basis to help them better define regulations, according to the Kiosk Industry Group Association.
