Design wows with modern palette, mood-enhancing light

THOUGHTFUL ELEMENTS MERGE TO CREATE A BEAUTIFULLY INVITING SETTING AT THIS HIGH-END BUT INFORMAL TRATTORIA AND BAR. Sitting at the base of the Maritime Hotel, the design’s contemporary palette of gray tones with accents of white marble, brass, and blackened steel provides an eye-catching, welcoming backdrop.
Connecting the north and south dining rooms, a 38-ft.-long bar clad in white quartz is visible from the plaza and provides a stunning visual focal point. Adding to the buzzworthy vibe, the undulating pattern of custom, 1960s-inspired marble mosaic pavers covering the indoor and outdoor floors is reminiscent of the sea and mirrors the hotel’s distinctive grid of porthole windows.
Mediterranean plantings adorning the patio and Mid-century-inspired lighting further support the restaurant’s modern Mediterranean character and complement the hotel’s Mid-century modern vibe.
A wall-to-wall glass door system allows natural sunlight to flood the dining rooms for breakfast and lunch. Globes of lights over the patio and understated fixtures glowing in the dining room let the space transition seamlessly, providing an aura of romance and drama for dinner and late-night patrons. The glass door system also allows for flexibility to expand restaurant service onto the plaza during fair weather.
Other design features include refurbishing and polishing terrazzo in the dining rooms from the building’s original construction in the mid-1900s.
