WITH STAND OUT FEATURES AND A SHOUT OUT TO LOCALIZATION, this airport market takes flight with its eye-catching interpretation of the hip, Minneapolis-based North Loop warehouse district. By showcasing a vibrant industrial aesthetic, the store goes beyond striking a sense of hometown pride, however. The fresh design appeals to everyone, including travelers who are unfamiliar with the popular retail and restaurant destination.
Using eclectic metal and wood tables gives the look and feel of an open city market. A backlit wire glass window frieze at the storefront mimics warehouse clerestory. Large stencil artwork on corrugated metal and wood columns further adds authenticity. Wood porcelain wall cladding with a reclaimed finish, brick veneer wall, and a slatted wood grille ceiling also highlight the loft concept.
Other elements include:
- Industrial-style table risers
- Porcelain concrete-look floor
- Warehouse-style windows
- Tin ceiling
- Chalkboard signage
Highlighting local gift merchandise and sports teams on feature walls and front tables enhance the shopping experience. A central cashwrap provides an easy transaction point for time-sensitive travelers. Large flat screens on the storefront and interior promote featured products and promote local neighborhood events.
