High-flying brand opens first store in airport
EXTENDING THE SAVVY GLOBETROTTING APPEAL OF ITS BAGS AND ACCESSORIES, lifestyle brand Lug recently opened its first retail store in the Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport.
Measuring 1,290 sq. ft., the flagship store touched down in early June on Concourse D with an appealing design that centers around the brand’s iconic, vibrant colors and prints. In each corner, touch screen kiosks offer interactive experiences. A water station, placed next to a display of the brand’s colorful water bottles, provides thirsty travelers with a convenient and complimentary way to stay hydrated.
The BWI Lug store is also partnering with local charities as part of its Bag Exchange program. Customers who donate their gently used bags or wallets, receive 10% off new purchases and the used bags and wallets are donated to local charities.
Founded in 2005 by Ami and Jason Richter, Lug has been featured on the O List in O, The Oprah Magazine, and was the official bag of the Golden Globes in 2017 and 2018 SAG Awards Gala.
“We are flying high with excitement over our first-ever retail store — and by design, it is in an airport, where we can personally interact with individuals and families to help them travel with style and function to destinations around the world,” says Jason Richter.
