INCORPORATING BOLD COLORS, CONTRASTING TEXTURES, AND DYNAMIC LINES INTO THIS STOREFRONT DESIGN places a fresh, modern focus on the brand’s mission of offering healthy, affordable food.
Bright yellow and orange hues on the chairs and walls, along with turquoise window trim, create an inviting, lively palette. Adding a sand mixture to some of the walls contrasts the bright, smooth adjacent color slashes. A textured, seamless epoxy floor references the simple, painted floors of the neighborhood shops while also being easy to clean and highly durable.
Floating above the entrance, dimensional, pin mounted signs clearly display the brand logo. Housing grab-and-go meals in bright open refrigerators make the product immediately visible upon entry.
A cluster of Edison bulbs with colorful, patterned cables hang over the point-of-sale, attracting customers and making the transactions warmer and more intimate. A large mission statement behind the POS reinforces the brand’s ethos. Transforming elements of the logo into a series of glyphs also expresses the brand’s mission.
Lights hanging above the seating at the window feature a turquoise hanging structure which suspends a plant above the tables, providing freshness, life and light. Large windows let natural light fill the space. Tables, chairs, and wall fixtures utilizing light neutral maple add warmth to the space.
Other elements include laser etching sharing icons into the table tops. Vinyl wall graphics, given depth with a drop shadow, reference urban street typography.
Meeting back of the house requirements left a small front of the house with an irregular entrance. Angling the point-of-sale counter and pushing the refrigerator displays to the back opened up the space for queuing and seating. Using bright brand colors within a historic context meets the challenge of gaining historic board review approval.
