EMPHASIZING A CONNECTION TO THE COMMUNITY, this flagship store communicates the brand’s long-standing commitment to the area through historical photographs, large murals, and aerial panoramic images. Hand-painted signage against a backdrop that features elegant curves and a warm color palette adds to the design’s aura of upscale Southern hospitality.
Dark stained white oak turrets descending from the ceiling represent classic Southern architecture. Fitting the turrets with up-facing light fixtures and copper valances enhances the themes of Old World quality and tradition. Copper farmer’s market wall sign adorning the produce department, with the brand’s logo hand-painted on an adjacent wall, promote authenticity. Custom millwork and high-end cases also boost the shopping experience. An easy-to-maintain, polished concrete main floor provides a visual contrast to the dark wood fixtures and warm color palette.
Curved design elements, such as a curved salad bar bridging the produce and deli departments, lead customers through the store. Multiple freestanding fixtures and islands adjacent to service counters and endcaps follow the store’s curved perimeter and contribute to a feeling of merchandise abundance. Overhead wall partitions and bulkheads also draw attention to key merchandise displays, dramatically lit by hanging accent lights.
More elements include departmental wall signage with hand-painted lettering in the background and dimensional lettering outlay. White crown molding above the department signage provides a clean, sophisticated look. Classic subway tile with contrasting grout completes the backdrop for each service department.
A state-of-the-art, automated wine dispenser wrapped in custom white oak cabinetry showcases the selection in the wine shop and tasting room. Vintage tin ceiling, rolling library ladder, and the store logo etched in a mirror behind the bar adds a stylish touch to the alluring, rich atmosphere. Custom oak shelving with extra deep shelves places more product on the wine shop sales floor. Vinyl wood flooring in the wine shop sets the destination apart from the rest of the store. Using a distressed pattern with a prominent grain supports the store’s classic, vintage look.
A winding staircase leading to a mezzanine seating area, with the same vinyl wood flooring, features distressed cooking utensil wall decorations and throwback hanging Edison lights.
