Co-working concept drives customer traffic for office supplier
A CO-WORKING SPACE INSIDE THIS BIG-BOX OFFICE SUPPLY STORE drives excitement and customer traffic. Extending the urban co-working experience to the suburbs, the Workbar environment includes offices, soft lounge seating, reading nooks, conference rooms, and an enclosed courtyard.
Large windows punctuating the Workbar storefronts allow members to see, but not hear, the broader Staples retail floor. Being transparent animates both the co-working and retail environments. The sales floor gives Workbar members a Main Street-style backdrop, while the windows allow Staples customers to view the Workbar concept.
Maximizing features of the store’s existing industrial warehouse space, including steel joists and corrugated steel decking, minimizes the overall construction costs. A series of skylights atop the existing roof structure also provide a cost-effective way of bringing natural light to the Workbar area.
