Design highlights brand’s boho style
THE EARTHY VIBES OF THIS BRIGHT, AIRY DESIGN at the apparel company’s new location, inside an historic warehouse, highlight the brand’s bohemian California style. The storefront differs greatly from the brand’s small, former digs in the midst of a noisy marketplace. The warehouse’s existing architectural features seamlessly integrate with customer-friendly elements, such as a cashwrap anchoring the space. Strategically placed patches of exposed brick preserve the building’s history. Light fixtures take inspiration from the warehouse’s industrial qualities and vintage aspects of the clothing.

The project also reflects the brand’s story through natural textures including stone/concrete floors, an exposed beam ceiling, and wooden and metal shelving. Organic backdrops frame the merchandise. Vignette displays show cohesive collections. An area dedicated to buyer relations emphasizes interactions rather than transactions. Visitors can enjoy refreshments while discussing designs, reviewing prices, and placing orders.
The sloping floor was leveled with outriggers that had to be custom cut. Thanks to input from surrounding businesses and the developer, the showroom complements the ambiance of neighboring retailers, including a coffee shop and several other boutiques. The storefront is a big hit with customers, according to the brand’s owner, who reports business has tripled since opening.
