Hermès of Paris Inc., a subsidiary of Hermès International S.A., has signed a lease agreement for a building at 706 Madison Ave. on the corner of 63rd St. in New York City. This space will be home to the new Hermès flagship.
The premises consist of a modern five-floor structure connected to a restored bank building from the 1920s. The site is within the Upper East Side Historic District and features a distinctive red-brick facade, approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
Hermès pursues a dynamic retail development, following the launch of the renewed Hermes.com in the United States (October 2017), the opening of the Hermès store in Palo Alto, Calif., U.S. (May 2018), the new store in the New York Meatpacking District (April 2019), and the expansion of the San Francisco flagship (Fall 2019). This upcoming commitment demonstrates Hermès’ confidence in the US market and will to nurture a relationship of almost 90 years with its clients.
Hermès will remain in its current Madison Avenue store location until the opening of the new flagship, expected by 2022.
