Introducing their new line of aged rums into the market, Barcardi evokes the design of a long gone era to signal a new step forward for the brand.
Modern material is treated to evoke the feeling of hand made iron work from the mid century. The mixture of metal and wood connects the old with the new, the modern with the classic. The display is kept light without too much branding by using a dark ink on the dark wood to create a subtle look of luxury.
The Caribbean, the birth place of the rum, is represented through various elements. The laser cut palm leaf pattern on the metal and the silkscreen pattern on the header maintains an art deco look. The curved lips and rounded structural elements keep the design lines flowing upward to the top header and top shelf where the bottles are placed.
Alternating the placement of the wood and metal side panels breaks away the standard style of being perfectly symmetrical, but also allows light to filter through to both bottom shelves.
These displays are meant to stay for short periods of time from 2-4 months, but many of the retailers love the display and have kept it longer.
