After a difficult spell Ann Summers has recaptured its mojo with a rebrand. There’s a real buzz around the building, if you excuse the pun,” says chief executive of sex toy retailer Ann Summers Jacqueline Gold. With the help of brand consultancy 20/20, Gold has overseen a complete overhaul of product, packaging and marketing as well as a new store-format and possible international expansion.
The Dover format is designed to better serve Staples’ small business customers and technology power users, with its customer-centric retail model. Key enhancements include:
-A race-track design that incorporates shorter aisles and lower fixture heights, improving customer sight lines and traffic flow;
-Product categories that were grouped together in the store to offer our customers a higher level of service in those areas that need more assistance.
The new layout is based on a race-track configuration, which maximizes traffic flow and helps the customer find items quickly. The store also features an expanded and centralized customer-service area referred to as the “Workbench,” where customers get assistance with basic hardware needs such as tool and knife sharpening, rescreening, lock rekeying, pipe threading, and cutting just the size of pipe, conduit, chain, cable or rope you need.
It has been three years since T-Mobile announced its Global Design Concept and began rolling it out to its fleet of retail stores, providing customers with a compelling retail experience and improved overall efficiency within the store.
Two of the nation’s leading Midwest-based general merchandise retail chains, Shopko Stores and Pamida, announced Wednesday they will merge to create one of the largest U.S. retailers focused on serving smaller and rural communities.
The combined entity will have nearly 350 locations in 22 states and plans for new store growth in the second half of 2012 and beyond.
