DINING GOES INTO DIMENSIONAL OVERDRIVE as cubes appearing to protrude from the wall in this geometric 3D effect. The oversized custom design in varying tones of white oak veneer adds a playful edge. The intricate 3D parquetry pattern incorporates an Old World artistic element into a hip design concept.
In this major renovation that moves away from a uniform cafeteria look, modern furniture and materials with bold color accents lend a cool urban vibe. Bar-height and feature seating, bar counters and stools compensate for a space reduction, while banquettes maximize seating space.
Two distinctive areas create intimacy. One area, on two levels, offers more private eating sections. The second zone is delimited by a randomly angled, bright fushia paneled ceiling.
The design further shines with huge custom lighting fixtures, nicknamed egg yolk lamps because of their garish, glossy yellow hue. These randomly placed, eccentrically fun domed fixtures provide a playful interruption of the white wood lath linear pattern ceiling and emit both direct and indirect lighting. A centered recessed 39-watt LED downlight surrounded by an indirect strip LED light creates the halo within the dome and accentuates the egg yolk hue.
