INTERPRETING THE BRAND’S ONLINE PERSONA INTO A THREE-DIMENSIONAL SPACE, this design infuses the shopping experience with artistic, edgy, and educational vibes.
To ensure professional makeup applications and true color renderings, perfect light levels add a very essential touch. Ceiling panels of metal mesh, wrapped in a single line of glowing ambient light, creates a dramatic, sharp effect. Studio-inspired spotlights between the panels serve as points of lights, aiming at areas in need of maximum brightness such as the beauty bar and product display.
Meeting the challenge of efficiently displaying more than 2,000 products, cascading wall fixtures around the perimeter house an alluring array of items. Display inserts in every fixture also allow for flexiblity of varied product types, sizes, and shapes. Building hidden storage into the base of each wall fixture, as well as the wall adjacent to the cashwrap, provides quick access to backstock for the sales floor.
Other features include a beauty bar with video tutorials on iPad displays. An overflowing train case with a curated selection of products at the bar also creates an eye-catching “First Look Display.”
Taking inspiration from the brand’s downtown Los Angeles origins, each store reflects elements of the live-work loft spaces within the city’s arts district. Each store also features whitewashed brick walls and a street art-style mural depicting the faces of beautiful women partially shrouded by splashes of color and sharp lines.
More features include:
- Retrieving product information by scanning items on iPads
- Creating a unique cashwrap graphic panel using hundreds of real NYX lipstick caps to depict a large pair of lips
- Installing wood-look tile in the main sales area
- Using an aluminum composite panel in a matte black finish for the storefront
