Leading retail fixture and shelving manufacturer Morgan Li is continuing its momentum into the hospitality space as its latest project with The Wheelhouse, a 21-room boutique hotel steps away from Wrigley Field, is slated to open to the public in May. Morgan Li created all of the hotel’s beds, from typical double sized to the hotel’s unique bunk beds.
This project comes on the heels of a robust 2017 for Morgan Li, which included work with other hotels such as The Ritz Carlton and Hotel Eddy and even working with the ADIDAS brand with two pop-ups and dynamic store presences.
“Our roots remain deep in working with retailers such as Walmart, Gap, and Old Navy, but we’re focused on these new high-growth categories as well,” says Jonathan Rosenband, president of Morgan Li. “Despite what many are saying, stores aren’t going away, but they’ll need to provide more engaging experiences for customers to keep them coming in versus shopping online, and that’s where we can help.”
Morgan Li was founded in 2009 and in the near decade since, it’s seen tremendous growth and has expanded beyond its 500,000-sq.-ft. facility in Chicago Heights to operate a plant in China, giving it global scale and distribution capabilities.
“While we often service clients on a global level, working on a project like The Wheelhouse is a lot of fun as it’s right in our backyard and gives us more opportunities to push our capabilities into the hospitality category,” says Andrew Rosenband, CEO of Morgan Li. “Whether we’re creating fitting rooms for the largest retailer in America or custom bunkbeds for a boutique hotel in Chicago, we’re equipped and built to do any and everything our customers need for their companies’ success.”
