Photo booth provides playful, personalized experience
CELEBRATING THE LAUNCH OF THE BRAND’S LIP COLOR COLLECTION, this photo booth creates a memorable customer experience that infuses Hollywood-style glamour with digital technology and traditional visual merchandising. The project takes cues from a video for the Rouge Dior lip color campaign depicting brand ambassador Natalie Portman striking playful poses inside a photo booth and exploring the streets of Paris. Placing the booth in the store the same day as the video’s release provides a simultaneous experience between digital and real life.

Entertaining visitors as they wait their turn, a large digital screen on the front exterior wall plays the 21-second advertising spot. On the opposite side, a series of vertical photos features Portman. Large glossy images of the collection’s four shades, each in a lipstick case, grace the side walls. High quality printing ensures a precise match to each actual shade.
Additional branding includes the Dior name, logo, and a custom curtain. A red carpet entry also adds a film star effect. Customers can access instantly printed images and also send digital photos to their email using the store’s free internet connection.
Flat packing the booth reduces logistic costs. Instructions ensure easy on-site assembly can be done by one person.
Using the booth as inspiration, a version for smaller stores had rollouts in five cities in five countries. Another phase of the project, consisting of a textile totem, was distributed to 18 smaller stores in the U.S. and Latin America.
