Tech-driven sculpture interacts with shoppers
This interactive sculpture turns shoppers into stars by encouraging them to activate the oversized camera, strike a pose, and smile. A digital SLR camera concealed behind a two-way mirror snaps their pictures. Uploading the photos creates a colorful display of selfies showcasing the city’s stylish residents and highlighting the marketing campaign, Reflections of Toronto Style. The fun experience draws food traffic and boosts mall dwell time.

Measuring more than 26 ft. long and seven-and-a-half ft. high, the sculpture’s powder-coated metal frame is clad with millwork and mounted on a steel base plinth. The front face is finished with powder-coated aluminum. The back is clad in mirror acrylic that creates an engaging pattern. Using mirrors also serves as a metaphor for the city’s diversity of style and the people who define it.
Other features include modular elements that click together seamlessly and mount to metal channel frames. Connection details are hidden and can be easily disassembled for re-use.
