In its constant push to advance sustainability, global retail and environment solutions company Moss has established a Global Green Team and unveiled a suite of materials and processes allowing for today’s most sustainable retail projects.
“Brands are hungry for simple, actionable, sustainable solutions that minimize their impact to the environment,” says Dan Patterson, Moss president and CEO.
“At Moss, we’ve both been challenged by customers to develop more eco-friendly solutions, and been consistently driven by a desire to do better for the environment,” notes Patterson, who oversees the Global Green Team with staff from across Moss including operations, global procurement, project management, and quality and continuous improvement.
The new eco-friendly SEG (silicone edge graphic) textiles SustainaTex and SustainaGlow are now available. Both of these new substrates are made from 100% post-consumer waste recycled polyester. These textiles come standard with Moss’s new SustainaGasket, which is itself comprised of 100% reprocessed pre- and post-consumer waste plastic.
“When you combine Moss’s new print and gasket materials with our recycled-content aluminum frames, you get unprecedented green solutions that can be used for complete retail environments,” says Patterson.
Along with these SEG solutions, Moss has unveiled SustainaBoard, a new printable rigid material that is 100% recyclable and biodegradable.
Moss also provides sustainable packaging and graphics recycling programs in which brands can send obsolete graphics back to Moss in the original packaging for recycling. Moss continues to explore all opportunities to improve its sustainability, including materials sourcing, printing and shipping processes, and corporate operational behavior.
“Because of Moss’s comprehensive focus on materials, technology, and technique, retailers and brands can communicate as impactfully as possible with their community—and be as environmentally friendly as possible—with every printed graphic, structure, light box, or full retail environment,” Patterson says.
