The endcap design highlights the 4K quality of this low-cost 55-in. TV, attracting shoppers from over 30 ft away with a lit header and a simple background against which the product stands out. Sleek and understated, the display can be installed onto the existing Best Buy gondola. Graphics communicating key features and benefits are changeable magnets, and white lettering on black makes text easy to read. Shoppers can push buttons to learn how the remote and TV work together. Graphic content on a dummy remote explains voice activation and how the remote works with different digital platform apps. Made of sheet metal, laminated MDF, LED lights, and acrylic, the endcap was built to last more than three years.
Featuring brand-consistent color, the display allows employees to pull the top of the engagement door forward to access the cabinet and electronics. This allows the installer to simply add sections into the uprights. No other assembly is needed. Key slot brackets attach to the gondola. A custom mount puts the TV close to the back panel to emphasize its slimness. A mounting bracket secured to the endcap back wall secures the TV for safety. The endcap enables easy mounting of future models when they are available. All display electronics are tested in the assembly line before shipment.
Given the appeal of the price point (under $400), the 4 by 7 Best Buy price tag graphic appears on the angled control deck next to the remote. After the endcap was installed early 4th quarter of 2018, Amazon, Toshiba, and Best Buy saw an incredible demand for this 4K TV, with sales exceeding expectations.
