EuroCIS 2021 cancelled
Due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and unforeseeable situation in spring 2021, EuroCIS, a trade fair for retail technology, will not take place as scheduled March 16 – 18, 2021. The next staging will be according to its usual cycle, Feb. 15 – 17, 2022, at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.
“The decision by the federal and state governments on Nov. 25 to intensify measures in Germany further and probably even prolong them into the new year unfortunately does not give any hopes for a marked improvement until March,” says Wolfram N. Diener, president & CEO of Messe Düsseldorf. “We want to give our exhibitors planning security. This is why, after consultations with the exhibitors’ advisory board of EuroCIS and the trade fair’s conceptual sponsor, the EHI Retail Institute, EuroCIS will not be held before February 2022.”
EuroCIS is renowned for presenting highly specialized developments specifically for retail, covering segments such as big data, e-commerce solutions, supply chain management, mobile solutions, checkout management, digital marketing, workforce management, and merchandise surveillance. In order to keep the sector informed about the developments and trends in retail technology with its short innovation cycles despite the cancellation of the physical event in 2021, a digital kick-off for 2021 will be staged during the dates of the cancelled EuroCIS in mid-March 2021. This will be followed by various digital touchpoints throughout the year, which will bridge the time until the EuroCIS 2022 staging.
